Lynn Miles Receives a Canadian Folk Music Awards Nomination!
POSTED: OCTOBER 7TH, 2010
Lynn Miles is having a pretty incredible week!
First, on Tuesday she released her brand new album "Fall For Beauty", and then today we received word that she has also been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Contemporary Singer of the Year
If those items weren't exciting enough, Lynn also had some rather kind words said about her and "Fall For Beauty" from CBC Radio Music Matters:
When last we heard from Lynn Miles, just over a year ago, the Quebec-born, Ottawa-reared singer/songwriter was re-examining her past, acoustic-style, on the two-CD set BLACK FLOWERS VOLUME 1-2. Now comes the all-new FALL FOR BEAUTY, as strong a selection of songs as Lynn has offered since kicking off her recording career in the early '90s. Which is saying a lot, considering that Lynn's admirers include the New York Times and the Washington Post. In addition, Lynn is the owner of a 2003 Juno for Best Roots and Traditional Album (Solo) and two 2005 Canadian Folk Music Awards, for Best English Songwriter and Best Contemporary Singer. FALL FOR BEAUTY is her eighth album. She wrote all ten songs and is primarily supported in the studio by producer Ian Lefeuvre, her longtime touring hand. Just about everything here is perfect for us, but go with (in order) "I Will", "Something Beautiful", "Little Bird", and "Love Doesn't Hurt".
Phew, now there's a bundle of great news!
