Dany Bedar - Joel Kroeker video for Déja Vu Reaches Top Spot (#1) on MusiMax

January 24, 2007 - MONTREAL: Quebec video service MusiMax has announced today that “Déjà Vu,” a French/English duet written and performed by Joel Kroeker and Dany Bédar, has reached #1 on its chart.
“What has happened with my career in Quebec has been a fascinating experience,
” says Joel. “I’m getting a lot of E-mail in French now.”
“Déjà Vu” is featured on Joel’s upcoming "Closer To The Flame" album slated for released by True North Records on Feb. 13. The album is the follow-up to the Vancouver-based singer/songwriter’s critically-acclaimed 2004 True North album “Melodrama.” Both were recorded with producer Danny Greenspoon.
Bédar discovered Joel when he attended a show in a local bar in Quebec City
on June 24, 2004. Kroeker performing to a Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day. Despite a
sparse audience, Joel performing solo was giving it his all.
Bédar was so impressed he bought “Melodrama” and played it over and over for
months. This led him to ask his management last year to contact Joel for
possible co-writing. The two met and then collaborated on “Déjà Vu” first
featured on Bedar’s album “Acoustique… en studio!.”
In early 2007, Bédar went back into the studio and covered Joel’s “Your
Painted Face,” one of the highlights of “Melodrama.” It will be
released shortly in Quebec.

Why is that so many Canadian records (Paupers, Kensington Market, Quiet Jungle, Mandala) have not been reissued while we are scraping the bottom of the barrel of other countries?

I must say that it's absolutely Criminal
that you haven't re released The Syrinx first 2 albums on cd !
These are Classic Canadian Electronic albums
And their Brilliant!
And there are a lotta people that would want them
And people that don't know them will be pleasantly surprised at how damn good they are
They are a classic group not unlike The Silver Apples
